'54 DKW

We recently spotted this rare interesting 1954 DKW
It also had a DKW motorcycle in the back!

Cooling rings!

Over the winter the Skunwerks dept of the OOC have been working on some top secret projects!
As many of you have seen we already fitted the '51 Porsche cooling rings to a set of Split Beetle drums, then machined out the inside of the drum to accept the later 40mm brake shoes.
Going one further with this project, we thought it easier just to make profiles and have the cooling rings cast directly onto new 40mm front drums.
The form's are now made, in all 3 profiles; 356 '51, 356 PreA and A and 356B.
Just off the the casters now.....

St. Rose's School car show "wheel nuts"

A small group of OOC members attended a local classic car show in some of their "other vehicles". An annual event to raise funds for this school that provides support for pupils with special educational needs.

We do love some original paint and sign writing! :D

 
Also in attendance was this 50s Chevy pickup
It had a note in the window "WANTED single man with a large garage!"

Nice day for Splits!

As the weather was fantastic we took a trip to a couple of friends to check out their Splits.
The Azure Blue one we have never seen before and it was a really nice patina solid Split, already in preparation for the Petermax Müller Rennen next year to H.O.
The Green one was just in fresh paint and being prepared also for H.O. 2017.

Out & About

As our Norwegian friends were visiting and the weather was good, the '46 got an outing.
What better way to spend a spring day than vintage driving with friends in the '46.....

Norwegian Inspection!

We had a visit from some of our Norwegian friends this week and while they were staying they checked out the work being done on the '51.
 Mmmmm, did it pass inspection?
